Tasmania’s
Treasurer should start getting positive about AFL in
the State rather than trying to misrepresent the
position of the State Opposition on the matter.
The State Opposition has always been a strong
supporter of the playing of AFL games in Tasmania.
The Leader of the Opposition, Will Hodgman, said the
fact the Premier struck the Hawthorn deal without
following proper process and developing a business
case underlines concern over the $15 million
taxpayer funded deal.
“It is pleasing to see the great numbers showing
their support for AFL in Tasmania by attending last
night’s game in Launceston,” Mr Hodgman said.
“Mr Aird’s comments in relation to our support for
AFL in Tasmania are total nonsense.”
