Email
1. Get an e-mail address (from the WWW).
2. Compose a message.
3. Send a message.
4. Receive a message.
5. Address Book.
6. Print a message.
7. Forward a message.
8. Transfer a message. (from the In Box to a Folder).
9. Attach and send a file.
Extension: Creating a Group.

WWW
1. Type in a URL e.g. Dogpile.
2. Investigate the buttons and menus.
3. Investigate the DET homepage – site map.
4. Do a search on "space". Refine intended search
5. Bookmarking (finding, saving, editing, creating folders).
6. Search for the project area of interest.
7. Print.
8. Copy and paste, then edit into Composer.
9. Save the file to a floppy.
10. Print the file.



 
 

 Extra Bytes


1. Picture file formats:
? .gif (cartoons);
? .jpg (photos);
? .bmp (PC) and pic (Mac) (DTP, not www)
2. Digital camera, take 3 different photos
? Wide;
? Zoom; and
? Sepia / negative.
3. Open a floppy and create 2 folders "Project Title" and "Graphics". Place photos into the graphics folder.
4. Open Composer. Type in title for page. Insert one image into Composer (Menu / shortcut).
5. Format the image position and text wrap etc some text above and below.
6. Scan an image. Save it as a .gif or .jpg format onto a floppy disk inside the "Graphics" folder.
7. Insert the image into the existing page. Manipulate, position and text wrap (as above).
8. Save the whole page inside the "Project" folder.

Extension:
1. Open the image into "Paint Shop Pro 5" or the Mac equivalent.
2. Crop the image. Resave.
3. Insert the new image into the previous document and format as previous.
OR
4. Insert the new image into "Publisher" web document.
More Extension:
5. Open a blank document in "Paint Shop Pro 5" OR the Mac equivalent.
6. Draw your own images using the paint brushes.
7. Experiment with other special effects.
8. Save as .gif or .jpg.
9. Insert into document in Composer / Publisher Web page.
