*Wetlands are found where there is plenty of rain or where the land is permanently or temporarily covered in water.

*The water may be saltwater, fresh or brackish.

*The water may be moving or still.

*The area may be natural or artificial.

*Wetlands can be found all over the world and are not      limited to particular climatic areas .

*Marine areas where the depth of the water is less than 6 metres at low tide is a   wetland area.
