HOW OUR GREAT BARRIER ADVENTURE WAS RUINED

One day Brodie and Chris were sailing on the Great Barrier Reef

when a huge storm struck. The winds were so strong they blew us off course. during the voyage, we were knocked out for a short while and when we woke up we were on a deserted island.

We were looking around the island but there was nothing to be seen. Luckily some of our food swept ashore with the tide. We thought we should save it because it was all we had.

We didn’t know where we were. We found a tree that we thought it would be suitable to build a 'tree-house' in. As soon as you could say ‘G'day’ we were working on the hut. We had to co-operate and share our ideas because we didn’t have any paper to draw up a plan, of how we would build it.

Chris was working on knocking the wood into place with sharp pointy stones, while Brodie was out looking for wood to give the hut a second coat for protection. We started fastening the door on. Then when we finished that, we found some wood and designed some of our favorite furniture styles. By the end of the night we were into the hut and asleep. Just one thing, we made more than just, one bed.

We woke up the next day after a very restless night. We went out to find our last bit of material, something like a blanket. In the end all we could do was stick leaves together. Then we gave it a coat of moss for comfort.

We thought a lookout would be cool to have for our hut. We finished that and we estimated that it was 20 metres of the ground and 5 metres long. Chris nearly fell off the balcony after Brodie challenged Chris to a boxing match.
"How stupid!" said Brodie. "We forgot to put on a railing."
"Do you remember anything?" asked Chris.

That night Chris couldn’t get to sleep, then all of a sudden,
"Brodie there’s a cyclone!" yelled Chris.  Suddenly Brodie got upand immediately asked,
"What?"
"There’s a cyclone!" yelled Chris panicking. "Oh, it’s fine, it’s gone now"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?" Brodie asked impatiently.
"The storms gone".
"SO YOU MEAN I JUST HAD TO WAKE UP AT 1.00AM FOR A STUPID LITTLE PRANK"
"Well you got one thing wrong, it’s actually 12.00 midday dummy, I wonder if your Year Two teacher taught you how to tell the time." "SO GET UP LAZY!"

Then, that whole day Brodie and Chris didn’t see each other, not even at night. Brodie slept in the hut and Chris slept on the sand because when he fell asleep at the top of the tree he was so restless he fell off.

Then the next day Chris saw a real cyclone and he didn’t even bother telling Brodie because Chris didn’t want Brodie to have another attitude. Instead Chris just went on a big walk and Brodie was looking for Chris.

Eventually, during the middle of the cyclone, Chris began to feel sorry for Brodie and became worried so they escaped on a boat he made for him and Brodie.
