The Spectacled Flying Fox has pale brown coloured fur around his eyes.
The Spectacled Flying Fox eats nectar and pollen from blossoms and fruits of forest trees and palms. It also enjoys citrus fruits and mangoes.
These bats live in the wet Tropical Rainforest of Australia, in the canopy of tall trees.
Clearing of rainforest has reduced their number.
Bats spend daytime in very large camps. These camps are found in the upper canopy of taller trees in rainforests. The bats do not sleep much and spend their time squawking and squabbling amongst themselves. At dusk they leave the trees, to begin their nightime feeding.
