BRUSH-TURKEY

                                                 By Oliver
Description
The Brush Turkey is the most unusual bird of the rainforest, it is about the same size as a turkey.
Food
The Brush Turkey lives on the forest floor, it uses its strong feet to scratch for insects and grubs in the ground.
Habitat
It lives on the forest floor.
Threats to Survival
When rainforests are cleared, there is a chance of some animals disappearing. Rainforests can be ruined even if only a few trees are cut down, because this lets in the wind and light.
Behaviour
Its black colour helps it to hide in the forest shadows. The Brush Turkey builds a nesting mound of leaves and twigs about three metres across and lays about twenty eggs in it. The heat from the rotting vegetation hatches the eggs.
