Spinifex is a bunch of grass with spikes.  It grows in the desert.  Spinifex has very long roots.  A desert is an overgrown sandpit!  (Except for Antarctica!)

Hungry goats, cows, sheep and kangaroos eat spinifex.  Lizards and water holding frogs hide in the shade of the spinifex grass.
