Desert Snakes
by Jacqui

A snake has fangs that are hollow and full of venom.  A snake has NO eyelids.  It has very poor eyesight, but it can see small mammals and reptiles.  It uses the tip of its tail to lure its prey before it eats it.

Some snakes lay eggs and some snakes don't.  They have live babies instead.  People, lizards and birds eat snakes - especially the baby ones.

A snake lives in deserts, caves, water and grass.  Look at my picture and my diorama for a better idea.
