The Finch has feathers. The Finch likes to eat insects that are on low grass. The Finch lives in hot, dry areas like the desert.
Cats, dogs and foxes eat the finch - even fast snakes and lizards eat it!
The male Finch brings grass for the nest - held by one end. The female works the grass into the nest. A platform is built - first walls and roof of the nest chambers. Finally, the entrance tunnel is attached.
The male Finch looks after the babies. The eggs hatch after 12 days. The baby Finch learns very quickly. They stay in the nest for about three weeks and later leave their nests. After nine weeks, they can have their own babies!
