1.00 pm Weston Creek Sports Club – Stirling
Annual General Meeting

SeniorNet started in Ipswich, Queensland, in 1995. The Canberra Branch started in November 1998. Many members used computers at work before retirement. Many are still working with computers. Many have never used a typewriter, let alone a computer. Ages range from the fifties up to the nineties. All want to get the best out of their computers - for word processing as well as quite complex projects.

What do we do? We have general meetings every  month.

In our "buddy" system, a more experienced member can help a newcomer to computers to get started or overcome difficulties.

We have newsletters to which we can contribute.

We get special deals on computers and other hardware.

There are courses for members at affordable prices.

Seniors on the Internet, including the Web Older people certainly can learn to use computers - you can too. Maybe you have friends or relatives living interstate or overseas - wouldn't it be nice to be able to "chat" with them by e-mail which is so much cheaper than long distance phone calls? Or you could learn from the World Wide Web about something that interests you; or join an e-mail chat list - it is very easy to make "cyber-friends" through such lists. Or you might like to write up your family history, or publish a book online. Knowing how to use a computer can lead to many wonderful shared experiences.
