Here is a brief outline of the Introduction to the Internet course for the U3A, the underlined text are links to further information pages - just place your cursor on them and click the mouse once to reveal:

(i) Internet operations overview hardware and software connections, ISPs, help resources,

(ii) Setting up preferences, email (using several methods and software), Hotmail and mailing lists,

(iii) Surfing the net using Sherlock with Microsoft Explorer or Netscape Navigator,

(iv) Chat (News Groups), downloading files from the Internet, multimedia, and

(v) Australian WEB DIRECTORY, training sources, popular and local sites, Home Page preparation with various Web Page composers with a brief introduction to hypertext mark up language (html).
