STOP PRESS: See my
final report on Baily's Beads Observations here :
A
cruise
of the Aegean Sea from
Piraeus,
the Port of Athens to the south of Rhodes This looks promising
for the observation of Baily's Beads and of course the total solar
eclipse.
The ship will cruise to 34o52.8' N, 28o 36.6' E
for a totality of 3m 56s, the circumstances at this location are
shown below:
A video record was made during the
complete eclipse, here is one image during totality:
The equipment used was a Panasonic
video camera with remote control for zoom, still capture and video
recording.
A rotateable solar filter was used
before and after totality, the system was mounted on a small tripod
with a counterweight, projection telescope with a shaded screen and a
removable stereo microphone.
