Transit of Mercury 2006 November
8/9
a page from the
Theodore Lunar Observatory
The planet
Mercury will transit the Sun for just under five hours, visible here from
5:12 am until 10:10 am (AEST) and will be observed from my
location at the
Theodore Lunar
Observatory
in the Australian Capital Territory.
Here are my recordings of the transit from my Observatory.
The first is a 10 minute QuickTime movie - look hard and Mercury appears just above the
large sun spot on the right.
The second is live captured images from my LPI camera which failed to resolve
Mercury at all.
