Partial Lunar Eclipse 2001 July 5

Crater Timing Predictions by

Byron Soulsby - Calwell Lunar Observatory

You can observe when the umbra contacts the edges of each lunar feature listed in the links below and forward your timings for detailed analysis so that the oblateness of the earth's atmospheric shadow (the umbra) can be determined. These timing predictions are given for the center of each named feature, but I can analyse the leading and following edge timings as well, try and time three values for immersion and another three values for emersions. As this eclipse is partial, 500 surface features have been considered in the predictions. The primary contact predictions are given in the Circumstances link.

Then forward your crater timing and primary contact observations to me for early analysis.
