SOME LUNAR DIGITAL IMAGES

by Byron Soulsby

Calwell Lunar Observatory

The following images were produced using a Canon digital Ixus camera mounted near a 20 mm eyepiece of a 13 cm f/7.3 Newtonian clock driven telescope for the full moon on 30 November 2001.

The Canon Ixus was set for manual exposure and the 2 X zoom of the camera was used for the enlarged shots.

Some interference from some nearby trees just in the field of view can be discerned.

These images are a test of the capability of the camera prior to the penumbral eclipse of the Moon of 2001 December 30, where an attempt will be made to image the penumbra.
