Steve is originally from Canberra, and has over 25 years experience as
a commercial photographer.
He returned to Canberra in 1997. having been based in Jakarta, Indonesia
for two years - Shooting assignments for Indosat, Jakarta Convention Centre,
Metro department stores, Motorola Pagers, Clarke Hatch Fitness Centres,
Astra Jardine Insurance, IBM Computers, and various architects & property
developers.
And previosly in Bali, Indonesia, for one year, specialising in Travel
brochures for Hotels and Travel agencies. (which covered Bali, Java and
Sulawesi)
Before moving overseas, Steve ran his own commercial photography studio
in Adelaide for several years, covering a wide range of studio
work shooting products and people for brochures and catalogues, and location
assignments in the outback, Indonesia and Japan.
After moving back to Canberra, he and his wife, Yanie, set up a
studio in Fyshwick, and have been engaged in regular assignments for many
Government Departments, local designers, architects and advertising agencies.
Steve is a full member of the Australian
Institute of Professional Photography, and has won awards for ACT
Commercial Photographer of the Year, ACT Illustrative Photographer of the
Year, ACT Portrait Photographer of the Year, Highest Scoring Colour Print,
and Outstanding Portfolio.
On a national level, he has won several Silver print Awards
and a National Gold Print Award in 2002, and gained ‘Associate’
status in the AIPP.
In 2004, he gained the status of 'Master Photographer' in the AIPP.
