I can remember how excited I was the day we went out to the Airport to collect the four dogs we had imported from Australia. Shannon was Edenmist's first stud dog. I was so proud to have the opportunity to obtain an Aust Ch. He was bred by one of Australia's most renowned Sheltie Breeders, Bev Hedley of Jentam Kennels. Jentam bred some lovely dogs that excelled in the show ring.

Shannon was a dog of instant appeal, with his lovely head, color and type. He wasn't upset by any of the strangers he saw before him, and on the way home in the car perched himself between John and I on the column change and stared out of the window.

He was three years old then and in his prime. It didn't take him long to gain his NZ title making him a dualtitleholder with group wins along the way. Someone once said to me he was a real Gentleman and do believe he was.

He could really let you know if he was displeased with you by completely turning his back on you if he was in his run, it would make us laugh to see it. Shannon left us at 6; we placed him in a lovely pet home, later to be joined by Kelly. He was the sire of 5 champions kids, three in Australia, and two in NZ. His name features strongly in all the stock we have, no we will never forget him.
