Mallorene Me n My Shadow

Sire: AUST.CH Aanara Knight Move           Dam: Mallorene Time GoesBy

Shanae was the last Sheltie that we imported. She was like no other Sheltie I ever owned. From the moment she arrived she was destined to be the dominant one. The night she arrived she noticed the fridge door was open and immediately bolted with the bacon. That fairly convinced us that we needn't have any concerns about fretting or lack of appetite.

Her personality you just had to love. When the gang was allowed into the lounge at night she would fly straight onto the dining table so that she could survey the scene and see who needed sorting out. If you were sitting on the floor she would come and sit right between your legs and guard you from any affection that the others might want to force upon you. After letting them know to keep their distance; these people were hers - she would look up adoringly as if to say "Aren't I wonderful!".

Unfortunately, the same zest wasn't there for the Show Ring. She was shown for some time, but, in the end, I decided it just wasn't fair on her. Besides, I was fed up with her ability to turn the Circle or Triangle into a sudden dart for an exit! "Lynne kicking Shanae back into play" became the general description of the process of blocking the exits with a knee as we made it around the ring.

She was quite happy just being the boss at home: and mothering babies, which she especially loved. Her best gift to us was Shadow (ANZ CH. Edenmist Tri In My Image) to whom she imparted much of her personality, obviously, judging from his offspring, with some genetic persistance. Not that the personality did Shadow much good in dealing with Mum. She might be just 14 inches, but, she would floor him in no time - and he didn't ever get up until she said so either!
