Our Kennel??

In 1974 I purchased my first Shetland Sheep (N.Z Ch. Kismet Morning Glory) Misty. She was intended as a pet, with the possiblity of showing. After one show I was hooked. She was a great show girl, not a lot of coat but an eye catching expression. I mated her in between getting her title and thus Edenmist was started.

Out of her I got my first homebred Champion (Edenmist Enticing) who gave me a taste of what it was like to win at a Sheltie Champ show. She went Res In Show and I was over the moon. Unfortunatly I didn't really go much farther with any of her stock.

In 1987 we had the opportunity to purchase four shelties from Melbourne Australia, two being Australian Champions. We had seen these two on an earlier visit to Australia and had fallen in love with them.

The two champions remained with us and the other two were put into joint ownership. Three of the dogs proved very successful in the ring all gaining their N.Z titles. We purchased another two bitches later to tie in with the others lines. Although not as successful in the ring, what they produced for us was.

These dogs are behind our present day stock which you will see on our pages.

Since 1990 we have lived a rather nomadic existance; I am currently on my fifth "never again" sojourn in Australia. This has made managing a kennel and a breeding program a major challenge, but, has afforded some good friendships and experiences. It has also given one of our dogs, Shadow, a strange complex. He has become so addicted to adventure that he will aggresively guard any crate he suspects is destined for an airport!
