Non Club but events members are encouraged to attend.
Note:The notation (ps) after certain events stands for point score and if you are a JDCC Member you will receive points towards your annual participation tally if you, a) attend the event, and, b) receive additional points if you drive a Jaguar to the same event. JDCC General MeetingsThe Club meets at 8:00 PM on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at the Eastlake Football Club, 3 Oxley Street, Griffith, A.C.T. During the meeting members are encouraged to peruse a selection of reference resources from the library brought by the club Librarian. Club meetings usually finish between 9.30 and 10.00 PM after which members are invited to join their Committee and colleagues for coffee/tea and the usual wide ranging chat about "things Jaguar". Bay to Bermagui Run, Fri-Sun, July 17–19, 2009Organised by the Classic and Vintage Motor Club of Eurobodalla for the benefit of the Melanoma Foundation. Accommodation for the event is the Coach House Resort at Bateman’s Bay. The entry forms for the Rally are on the C.V.M.C.E. website and if you are intending to enter please fill out and return the entry form to the address given on the site. We have made enquiries about the accommodation at the Rally HQ (where the gala dinner is held on the Saturday night) and it is villa style accommodation units at the Batemans Bay Coachhouse Resort. Anita at the Coachhouse has advised me that there are not many villas left so I have set aside a few Queenslander Units in case you want to book one. The rate for the units is $118 per night which is discounted from the normal rate of $140 (you will need two nights - Friday and Saturday). However, Anita requires $118 deposit for you to secure your villa and you need to ring her (freecall 1800 670 715) and provide her with your name, details and credit card number. Get in quick as these units will not last long. Nine Club members and their partners are now entered in the event which is shaping up to be a great weekend. JDCC Annual Presentation Dinner, Saturday, July 25, 2009JDCC Annual Presentation Dinner will be held at the Hotel Kurrajong commencing 7.30pm.
This is our Gala event of the year where we award our members for all their participation
and effort over the year - so the Committee has decided to offer the dinner to Club members at a subsidised rate of only $50 per head,
in order to encourage as many members as possible to attend. The evening, which will be held in the historic Chifley Room, includes a
three course dinner and tea/coffee. Members are required to pre-pay the $50 per head for the dinner so please ensure that you get your
money to the Treasurer by Wednesday 22nd July to ensure your booking. This annual event is organised by the Jaguar Car Club of Victoria and will held be at Winton
Motor Raceway (Vic) on Saturday 8th August. It will take the form of a club timed super sprint and driver training day. The event will be
conducted under the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance Inc. (AASA) Permit Number- AASA080809/W492. For further details and to download a copy
of the standing regulations for this event go to the JCCV website and click on the ‘Sporting’ menu option. We have booked 10 rooms for Friday and Saturday evenings at the
Tuileries which is a boutique hotel/motel set out in a 2.5 hectare Vineyard and Olive Grove right in Rutherglen. On the Saturday we will tour some wineries
and then have a group dinner at the highly rated Tuileries Restaurant. A package deal for the weekend of $440 per couple includes two night’s accommodation and
the Saturday Dinner. On Sunday we will visit some local sights and take in a couple more wineries if you are up to it, before returning to Canberra late
afternoon/early evening. Only one double room is left, so if you want to join in, let Brian Johnston know (ph 6258 1556) immediately. The Jaguar Drivers Club of Australia has invited the Jaguar Drivers’ Club of Canberra to join in their display
(and concours day) at this event. It will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Mark 2 and the 10th anniversary of the modern S Type. There will also be a special display of D Types and C Types plus 250 other JDCA cars. About 2,000 British
make vehicles are expected plus 5,000 spectators. There will be food and drink stalls, art show, markets and other activities in addition to the car display.
It will be a big day. The JDCA has also offered to supply a number of free tickets to the event for Canberra club members. More
details for the Canberra contingent will be provided in the August issue of The Cat's Whiskers. |
