A tradition was begun this year with the inaugural 'Capital Cloggers Go Country' trip.
Around 20 of us descended upon the cute little NSW town of Binalong for a clogging and social weekend. We had the pleasure of the company of a couple of clogging friends from interstate plus a couple of husbands who had no doubt come to chaperone Colin with all the women!
The group met at the Binalong Golf Club for lunch and 4 hours of clogging.
This included the graduation of our three most recent beginners.
I'm not sure that the locals really knew what they were in for - we certainly raised the dust on that dance floor.
Pre-dinner drinks at the pub in front of the fire were spoiled only by the drama of a street brawl and broken window to which we were surprised and bewildered observers and not participants.
Dinner was a 'Christmas in July' affair at the fabulous Black Swan Restaurant
, complete with Secret Santa surprises. The intrepid of us stayed the night at the Binalong Hotel
where we had the run of the place. This included a post-dinner pyjama party in the lounge until the fire died out.
Some wimps, however, opted for the motel.
After a hearty country cooked breakfast and stroll around town we were ready to meander back to the National Capital and destinations beyond. The weekend was topped off by the vision of 'bikie chick' Jan Miller
being swept off on the back of a big black BMW.
What a fun weekend! Now just to decide whether to return to Binalong or go somewhere else next year.
