Playing conditions / general information
  • The Premier is FIDE-rated and is open to players rated over ACF1600.
  • The Major is FIDE-rated and is restricted to players rated below ACF2000.
  • The Minor is restricted to players rated below ACF1600.
  • The Seniors is restricted to players aged 50 years and over.
  • The organisers reserve the right to cancel the Seniors, and transfer players to other sections, if insufficient entries are received.
  • Unrated players (ACF) will be admitted under conditions prescribed by the Director of Play. Unrated players in the Minor are eligible only to win the Unrated prize.
  • The Director of Play is Shaun Press.
  • A fee of $20 is incurred for appeals against DoP decisions, refundable where an appeal is upheld.
  • Players must be members of their State association, or must join ACTCA.

Time limits
All sections
90 minutes initially plus 30 seconds per move.
The 30 seconds per move is added to players' clocks from the start.

Prizes Note: Only top prize is guaranteed in each section but the Doeberl Cup has always paid all prizes in full in the past.
In the event of a tie for trophies, the winner will be decided on a countabck of scores (cash prizes shared).
Players eligible for a prize who do not attend the presentation will incur a 20% handling fee.
