Not a lot happens in the first round with the top seeds winning, except against other top seeds. Tomek Rej, Junta Ikeda and Michael Yu lead the Young Masters with four winners in each of the other sections.
The fields start to spread out. Only four players maintain 100% scores, Toek Rej and Junta Ikeda in the Young Masters, Tristan Stevens in the Junior Masters and Jessica Kinder in the Girls Masters.
The leaders in the Young Masters and Junior Masters all win, with Vincent Suttor now the only player in striking distance of Tomek and Junta. Jessica Kinder draws to allow Deborah Ng to join her in the lead.
Some drama in the fourth round with many of the leaders stumbling. Tomek Rej and Vincent Suttor draw against Zhigen Wilson Lin and Michael Morris respectively, but Junta Ikeda's loss to Michael Yu leaves Tomek on top. This is replicated in the Girls Masters where Deborah's Ng draw with Sophie Eustace takes her to the lead as Jessica Kinder loses to Tamzin Oliver. Tristan Stevens defies the trend for a fourth win with Alex Mendes da Costa looking the onle threat at this stage.
Mixed news for the leaders. Tomek Rej wins against Gareth Oliver but Junta Ikeda stays within half a point. Tristan STevens drops his first half-point in teh Junior Masters but goes further ahead when Alex Mendes da Costa loses to Sherab Guo-Yuthok, leaving an interesting contest for second. Deborah Ng's draw with Tamzin Oliver allows Jerssica Kinder to rejoin the lead by beating Luthien Russell.
Tomek Rej's win against third-placed Vincent Suttor reduces the race to two contenders with Junta Ikeda staying on his tail. Tristan Stevens draws with Max Illingworth leaving the chasers a glimmer of hope at a point behind. Jessica Kinder and Deborah Ng both win and retain a one-point margin over the rest.
Third-placed Vincent Suttor wins against second-placed Junta Ikeda, while another point to Tomek Rej leaves him 1½ points clear, though still to play Junta. In the Junior Masters the two equal second players meet; Alex Mendes da Costa beats Zhengo Bo Wang to emerge as the only challenger to Tristan Stevens, who wins again. Jessica Kinder wins to take the outright lead as Deborah Ng draws; the close chasers fail to put full points on the board setting up a decisive last-round meeting of these two.
The Young Masters finishes early with Tomek Rej's victory over Junta Ikeda giving him a massive unbeatable lead. Drama in the Junior Masters as Tristan Stevens loses to tail-ender Robert Hvistendahl, but second-placed Alex Mendes da Costa drops his game to Thomas Donaldson leaving Tristan's one-point lead intact. Jessica Kinder and Deborah Ng draw with Sophie Eustace and Emma Guo to leave their Round 9 game as the decider, with Jessica a half-point up.
With Tomek Rej already having won the Young Masters, interest focussed on whether Junta Ikeda or Vincent Suttor would finish second. It turn out to be neither; Vincent falters against Ilia Zvedeniouk and Junta goes down to Shannon Oliver, allowing Garet Oliver to overtake both of them. Tristan Stevens hangs on to the necessary draw in the Junior Masters, and Jeesica Kinder takes out the Girls Masters as her game with Deborah Ng fades to an uneventful draw.
