= The ACTCA AGM was on Wednesday 16 May at the City Club, Garema Place.
= Canberra player Gareth Oliver scored an IM norm at the inaugural Sydney International Open. Several other ACT players participated.
= The 2007 Doeberl Cup was won by Ian Rogers; Adrian de Noskowski won the Major.

= The Australian Junior Championships were held in Canberra with support from O2C and many other sponsors. Michael Wei won the main section while Emma Guo won the Australian Girls Championship, Megan Setiabudi the Australian Girls Under 12 Championship and Junta Ikeda Australian Junior Lightning Championship. A number of other players won or placed highly, see the web site for all results.
= Canberra junior Allen Setiabudi won the Australian Minor and Sherab Guo-Yuthok won the Australian Major, part of the Australian Open Championships.
= The Australian Open was held in Canberra in December/ January. IM Zong-Yuan Zhao won from GMs Ian Rogers and Darryl Johansen. GM Mark Bluvshtein (Canada) was the top seed.
= FM Ian Thompson, visiting from the UK, won the Vikings Weekender with Junta Ikeda (second) the best Canberra player.
= Milan Grcic won the 2006 ACT Championship.
