Brendan at 2003 Junior Worlds

Vikings Finswimming’s Brendan Rocha returned from the 7th World Junior Finswimming Championships in Korea in September—creating history by being the first Australian to qualify and compete at these Championships. His father, Denis Rocha, went as Team Manager.

Competing against the world’s best junior finswimmers drew outstanding performances from Brendan and he broke two Australian 16-17 years records in the 50m and 100m Surface events. His results were:

50m Apnea 19.59 Personal Best
50m Surface 20.35 Australian 16-17 Record
100m Surface 46.10 Australian 16-17 Record
200m Surface 1:46.60 Personal Best
400m Surface 4:17.36

Full results are on the World Junior Finswimming Championships site.
