Original dulcimer music from the 18th century from Italy, Denmark, France and Spain

Karl-Heinz Schickhaus, since 1963 the director of folk and early music at the Richard Strauss Conservatorium in Munich, has discovered these musical treasures from the 18th century in long forgotten manuscripts. Recovery of this music from an almost forgotten Golden Age of music for the salterio (the Italian name for a dulcimer) really represents an aural feast for lovers of early music. The basso continuo for the Italian sonatas may be played on harpsichord, cello, harp, zither, guitar or lute.
