RULES 0F THE TOURNAMENT 2010

  1. The official laws of the game for 2010 apply as approved by FIFA and adopted & circulated by the Football Federation of Australia.
  2. This competition is played under the ID card / proof of age system. Participating players have to be cleared by the Registrar no later than the pre-competition Manager’s meeting.
  3. Each team is allowed a maximum number of eighteen players, however only sixteen may be nominated for any one game.
  4. Players shall use throughout the tournament the numbered shirt they were registered under on the team sheet.
  5. Teams shall assemble at the correct field prior to the appointed time in non-conflicting colours.
  6. The match balls will be supplied. Size 4 balls shall be used by U/12 & U/13 and size 5 by U/14 for all games by both gender.
  7. No injury time is allowed for in this competition and affected players, if deemed possible, shall be taken from the field for treatment and may be replaced by a substitute.
  8. Unlimited interchange can be used at any time, however should the Referee feel, that this rule is being abused to waste time or interrupt play (except in case of injury), the Referee shall have full discretion in controlling the interchange.
  9. Match cards will be held by the 4th Official and when filled in shall be returned there for collection by the match officials. Only the first match card is to be signed by the individual players. Either the Coach or Manager may sign off subsequent match cards.
  10. Two “cautions” in any one game will represent a “red card” and thus a “sent off”. The player concerned shall not take further part in the subject game plus be suspended for the next match his team is to play.
  11. A player who has accumulated three “cautions” during three different games shall be suspended for the next match to be played by his team.
  12. Players sent off shall be suspended for the reminder of that game plus the next match to be played by his team.
  13. The Referee’s or prior to it, the Registrar’s decision shall be final and no dispute will be entered into with regard to any game.
  14. A win shall score 3 points, a scored draw 2 points, a scoreless draw 1 point and a loss nil points.
  15. In the event of a draw during the play-off games the winner will be decided by whoever scores the first goal during 5 minutes each way extra time. The game still being drawn, a penalty shoot out shall take place, using the players on the field at this time.
  16. The duration of each game shall consist of 2 equal halves of 25 min. each with a 5 min. interval in the boy’s competition and 20 min. halves each with a 5 min. interval in the girl’s competition.
  17. A team not ready to play within 5 min. of the nominated k.o. time shall forfeit the subject game giving 3 points and a 3:0 win to the opposition.
  18. Extraordinary incidents or items not covered by these rules will be adjudicated by the tournament committee or a p&d committee convened for that purpose.
  19. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change the competition rules according to number of team entries, prevailing conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  20. The 2010 competition is open to U12, U13 and U14 boys.
  21. The provision for a finals play off in the 2010 competition applies only to the U12-13 age. The U/14 will play a Round Robin. In this competition the winner will be the team with the most points. If equal points exist, the better goal difference will count.
  22. The jewellery policy, as implemented by FFA does also apply to this competition.
  23. During any match the nominated support staff is to remain within the technical area and be restricted to only one person giving instructions.
